Until Reese Holland shows up with her long legs and no-bullshit attitude to audition for the prestigious all-male Rodner University snare line. It doesn’t matter how much hazing she has to endure from Laird Bronson, with his narrowed green eyes and arrogant smirk. She wants that damn spot, and she’s more than good enough to earn it. She expects there to be tension. Even friction. But not sparks hot enough to burn the entire campus down.

USA Today bestseller Stacy Kestwick is a Southern girl who firmly believes mornings should be outlawed. Her perfect day would include puppies, carbohydrates, and lounging on a hammock with a good book. No adulting, cleaning, or bacon allowed.

Tracy Marks has been acting onstage and onscreen since she was 12, and has been narrating audiobooks for 4 years. She lives in Chicago with her boyfriend and adorable dog, and considers herself very lucky to have an excuse to stay indoors in her toasty little booth during the cold winter months. Bringing heart, heat, vulnerability, and humor to her work, she has a passion for bringing love stories to life.

Stephen Dexter always wanted to be an audiobook narrator. As someone who never liked the whole "reading silently" thing, and has had a lifelong penchant for performing and flair for the dramatic, it was inevitable that he would be doing this for a living. With dozens of titles to his credit, a majority of them steamy romance novels, he has had the pleasure of voicing characters from the Great Plains of Texas, the bayous of Louisiana, the streets of South Boston, the dungeons of a vampire's castle, the deserts of Mars, and everything in between. It has been an honor to bring such amazing stories by Penny Reid (Marriage Of Inconvenience), Krista & Becca Ritchie (Hothouse Flower), Lex Martin (Shameless), Mia Sheridan (Kyland), and so many more incredibly talented authors, to life. Be sure to check him out on social media, Audible.com, ACX.com, and at www.stephendexter.com. SAG-AFTRA/AEA. Happy listening!

Confession...I was a little nervous about listening to a romance audiobook. I mean, I love the genre and have read many, many romances of all types, but I had never listened to an audiobook one before and was a little worried it’d be weird or uncomfortable. But I was curious to try and Drumline sounded like an awesome story, so why not?  And why it might have been a little out of my “audiobook comfort zone,” I was definitely not disappointed in either the story or the two narrators who brought it to life...in fact, I may have just added a new favorite to my list.

Drumline is a fun New Adult romance set at southern University where traditions are everything, but one feisty, strong young lady is determined to buck tradition and be the first female on an all-male snare line...and she’s willing to do anything to make it. Reese Holland knew it wouldn’t be easy to make her way into what had always been an “all-boys club,” but she’s determined and faces everything from sexism, hazing, rumors, and more. Despite this she remains determined.

Meanwhile, captain Laird Bronson is dealing with some stress of his own when Reese captures the attention. The chemistry between them is undeniable, but determined to make it on her own and not have people think she only made the line because of a relationship with the captain, Reese is resistant. But sparks fly every time these two get together and I loved their interactions and listening as their relationship developed despite the obstacles they faced.

And while part of my love for these characters and their story came from the author who created them, a lot of my enjoyment came from the narrators who brought them to life, Stephen Dexter and Tracy Marks.  The story alternates between the viewpoints of both Laird and Reese with each sharing their own thoughts and opinions.  Stephen Dexter did a wonderful job of bringing Laird to life with his southern twang and changing his tone depending on the situation...it was a perfect choice. And I loved Tracy Marks reading Reese...she managed to convey her sass and toughness without making her too hard.  Both did a fantastic job and made the story something I wouldn’t mind listening to or even buying a print copy of and reading again!

I’ll definitely be on the lookout not only for books written by Stacy Kestwick, but audiobooks read by Stephen Dexter or Tracy Marks.
